We had been waiting and hoping for this visit for a very long time. I remember our first meeting with John, and it reawakened many of the emotional ties that had be lost for so many years. At that time, we vowed to return to the place of our ancestors. There is no way that we will ever be able to repay you(John) for what you have given to me and to my family and to the countless other families who believed that this information was lost forever. I do wish that Mom(Sylvia Elaine Ellis-Fykes) would have lived long enough to see it, but she was there with us in spirit. Let us never forget where we came from and to teach the next generation of our heritage.
